Anybody who has been following us knows the story of Mudlap and Andy. ❤️ If you are new to our page check out #andytheturkey He was a very special turkey and we feel so honored that he was able to be part of our life! He was truly a bringer of joy! . Reposted from @faunography The other animals we photographed @autumn_olive_farms were this unlikely duo - Andy the turkey and Mudflap the retired Livestock Guardian dog. Andy was found on the side of the highway after a poultry truck crashed on its way to the slaughter house. He ended up living a life of luxury and celebrity on the farm. ❤️❤️
Reposted from @faunography About this time last year we began shooting for the book. An entire year later and we are now in the finishing stages of design. I can’t put this experience into words so I’m going to begin sharing behind the scenes videos and outtakes from the project. One of our first shoots was @autumn_olive_farms to photograph a few very important animals. First up was Tuscaloosa, one of their beautiful pasture and woodland raised heritage breed Ossabaw Island hogs. This is a rare breed from a tiny island off the Georgia coast. Tusky is a good guy but is low and strong and has big tusks and was not used to being in a pen so that’s why we used the gate. Clay kept feeding him Tostitos and he was totally chill and willing.
If you want to produce delicious pork in a regenerative model we think it needs to look something like this. We already have significant populations of songbirds butterflies and bees already.
The Killdeer have returned like they do every year. They are getting on with life and so will we as best we can. I mean if Killdeer can successfully build a nest, hatch eggs and raise a family in the middle of a gravel road then I think we can naviga
The Killdeer have returned like they do every year. They are getting on with life and so will we as best we can. I mean if Killdeer can successfully build a nest, hatch eggs and raise a family in the middle of a gravel road then I think we can navigate these current dire circumstances as well! Rock the Killdeer!!
Fall plantings in these two fields are almost ready for the pigs to forage! We plant fields to comprehensively improve the soil and increase pork quality. They love it!
